Putty is a application which can act like a Telnet and SSH client for Windows and Unix platforms. The application is free and is open source. It works over the SSH, Telnet, rlogin protocols. It also works over a serial cable connection. Putty is a very small application; it’s a packaged executable and requires no installation. The file size is 444KB, its lightweight, runs fast and doesn’t take much system resources.
