BitMeter is a bandwidth monitor application that is available for Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems. The bandwidth monitor application will monitor your network connection and allows you to view reports by either the command line tools or from a web browser. The web interface provides several different graphs and charts that displays the network usage over a period of time. Bitmeter can also provide for alerting for when a network connection has exceeded a limit that you specify. There is also a calculator utility that can be used for determining how long it will take to download or upload a file across a network.
